how to configure network between 2vm centos and server2008?

Hi

i would like to configure a network between 2 virtual machines

1 vm is centos 5

2nd vm is server 2008

i would like to ping from 1 vm to another

i configure the static ip on centos and i put it on the same subnet

but i still cant reach the 2nd vm?and from the 2nd vm too i cant reach the 1 vm?

is it possible to communicate between the 2 vms?
