Hello All,
Forgive me if I am not posting in the right area of this forum.
For some reason Web Services will not allow me to use a DNS Server Alias'.
I tried to create an alias in IIS 8.0 on Server 2012 R2, I started by creating the DNS CNAME and then I added the hostname to the bindings area in the IIS Console. When I try to access the website it gives me a Connection Refused Message. This is only for Web based applications. When I typed in the DNS CNAME as a UNC Path it works fine. For some reason in the Browser it Doesn't. Is there some new security thing in Server 2012 that I might've missed. I just upgraded my server to 2012 R2 from 2008 R2. The result is the same when I type the Alias in on a workstation or directly from the server. I am very technical savvy and I am also A+ Certified so please do not be afraid to use any Technical Terms with me. This has me puzzled.
