DirectAccess - Do I really need a proxy server for forced tunneling?

Hi,

At first DirectAccess looked like a nice thing but I'm starting to have doubts about how it works.

The major problem for us is that when users are connected to DA or VPN they would like to be able to use site-to-site tunnels and direct RDP to customers that we have on the office network. However to be able to access them we need to enable force tunneling on either DA or VPN. When we do that they can access the customer networks in the site-to-site tunnels but not the direct connections where we are approved by the external gateway address. This is because with force tunneling we have no internet access. So the question is: Do I have to install a proxy server for this? This is so stupid when we haven't had a proxy server for internet browsing in the network since 2006... Well, we had a TMG but the proxy was disabled.

So now I am considering setting up a second vpn solution just to have it work properly.

Oh, and the routes I have specified on the DA server does not get picked up unless we use force tunneling...
