Hi
I've set up a RRAS VPN Infrastructure to enable Always ON VPN with the Builtin Microsoft VPN Adapter. Everything works fine, except the speed.
File transfer speed (Windows Copy) between a client connected via SSTP and the RRAS server is somewhere between 180 - 200 Mbit/s Down, and roughly half speeds for upload (Limited by my home connection). Those numbers look very good to me. The problem is the transfer speed between others servers within the network. File transfer with our fileserver, which is on the same network as the RRAS server, only gives me 40 Mbit synchron, although when copying files from the file server to the RRAS server directly, I get transfer speeds of ca. 2500 Mbit/s.
Here are the figures:
RRAS Server-> Client: 180 - 200Mbit Down / 100-140 Mbit Up
Fileserver -> RRAS Server: 2500 Mbit/s Up/Down
Fileserver -> RRAS Server -> Client: 40 Mbit/s Up/Down
RRAS Server is Windows Server 2016, latest Updates. Internet connection is 300 Mbit dedicated synchron fiber.
Client ist Windows 10 Enterprise 1803. Line is 500/100 Mbit/s
For testing purposed I dont firewall the traffic between the RRAS Server and the internal network right now, its directly connected, so I can rule out a firewall issue. Does anybody have an idea, what is causing the slowdown ?
Thanks
BR
