Can not access Locally hosted Site within LAN but works from out side

Hi,

last weekend we upgrade our AD from 2003 to 2008 r2 enterprise. We are having about 7 locally hosted sites; 2 sites are hosted on Linux_Debian OS and other 5 are hosted on IIS. Some of them are for local access and few can be accessed from out side. All servers where this sites are hosted are up and running. All sites are not accessible locally via URL but we can access them via IP address.

I am experiencing following problem.

  • Our website has log in page. When we click on it, It points to site hosted locally (abc.xyz.com)
  • Users from out side can access to this page but all users from our offices and users logged in remotly via RDP can not access locally hosted site.

Following steps taken from within the network to troubleshoot so far:

  • Ping the domain eg. you.local : successful
  • Ping the IP where this site hosted_eg. 10.0.3.51 : successful
  • Ping the host where this site hosted_eg. myname.you.local : successful
  • Ping the site _ eg. abc.xyz.com : successful
  • checked with nslookup : Successful
  • Checked DNS entry in forward zone where host name (myname.you.local) correspond to IP (10.0.3.51)
  • Created CNAME (Aliase) of abc.xyz.com which resolve to myname.you.local
  • Created PTR in reverse zone where 10.0.3.51 resolve to abc.xyz.com
  • Our web developers confirm that they have checked on their end, sites and server but no problem found.

Our issue is not resolve yet.

Please guide to troubleshoot and resolve.
