I have a 2008 SMTP server. I have built and tested to send mail from an AS400 to my clients. You can only put the SMTP IP address in the AS400, no email client. I need to be able to send TLS email when the recipient is setup for TLS but still send pop when the recipient does not do TLS on thier side.
I have verified that my smtp server will send TLS, but only when my outgoing port is set to 25. TCP 465 and 587 will not send TLS or any email. I have to have my outgoing port set to 25. I have also verified that the only TLS box that is checked is the one on the outgoing tab. Force TLS on the general tab is unchecked.
Using this config my smtp server works fine, if the recipient is setup for TLS. If they are not setup for TLS the AS400 will not send to them.
Is there a way to setup the SMTP server so that it will send TLS but will also send regular pop if the recipient is not setup for TLS?
